SPINAL CORD INJURY

INTRODUCTION

Central Nervous System Impairment: Disorders of the central nervous system (CNS) are a class of neurological conditions that affect the anatomy or function of the brain, spinal cord, or both.

SPINAL CORD INJURY SPINAL CORD INJURY

Damage to the small network of cells and nerves that transmit and receive messages from the brain to the rest of the body is known as a spinal cord injury (SCI).

Changes in sensation, movement, strength, and bodily functions below the injury site may be temporary or permanent as a result of this damage.

SYMPTOMS OF SPINAL CORD INJURY

  • Problems walking
  • Loss of control of the bladder or bowels
  • Inability to move the arms or legs
  • Feelings of spreading numbness or tingling in the extremities
  • Unconsciousness
  • Headache
  • Pain, pressure, and stiffness in the back or neck area
  • Signs of shock
  • Unnatural positioning of the head

WHAT CAUSES THE DISEASE?

Classification of the spinal cord and the regions of the body that it controls

The cause of a spinal cord injury is frequently an unforeseen accident or violent incident. The spinal cord may be harmed by any of the following:

  • A violent attack such as a stabbing or a gunshot
  • Diving into water that’s too shallow and hitting the bottom
  • Trauma during a car accident, specifically trauma to the face, head, and neck region, back, or chest area
  • Falling from a significant height
  • Head or spinal injuries during sporting events
  • Electrical accidents
  • Severe twisting of the middle portion of the torso

CURRENT TREATMENTS

MEDICATION

SURGERY

IMMOBILIZATION

Acute spinal cord injuries have traditionally been treated with methylprednisolone administered intravenously (IV).
However, recent studies have shown that the risks of this treatment, such as blood clots and pneumonia, outweigh the benefits

In order to remove bone fragments, foreign objects, herniated discs, or broken vertebrae that appear to be crushing the spine, surgery is frequently required.

Additionally, surgery may also be required to fix the spine in order to prevent future discomfort or deformity.

To align or stabilize your spine, traction may be required. Soft neck collars and a variety of braces are options.

WHAT WE OFFER? OFFER?

STEM CELL RESEARCH - CELLTIMAX CELLTIMAX

CelltiMax is Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) derived from human umbilical cords. Upon treatment, the cultured cells are injected intramuscularly / intravenously into the patient.

The cells are characterized by low immunogenicity. Hence, it is very safe, tolerable, and free of side effects. It has the capability to differentiate into specialized cells with specific functions for many parts of the body. They can reduce inflammation, repair, renew, regenerate, and replace damaged cells.

BENEFITS OF OUR TREATMENTS?

Stem Cell Research

Improve bodies’ natural healing abilities

Modulate the immune system

Locate and reduce areas of inflammation

Replace damaged and diseased cells

HOW IT WORKS? WORKS?

Using neural precursors derived from fetal neural tissue or induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS/hES), it is possible to repair and replace damaged tissue.

Mesenchymal stem cells derived from sources such as bone marrow, adipose tissue, dental pulp, or umbilical cord Wharton’s jelly have a rescue-and-regeneration function that is mediated by paracrine action through the release of secretomes, growth factors, anti-inflammatory chemicals, enzymes, and antibodies.
