Immunity refers to the ability of our body to protect ourselves from any potential threats from harmful microbes through intricate networks of pathways and defensive stages. Humans have two types of immunity which are innate and adaptive immunity. Therefore, the product that can increase the potency of the immune system in protecting us against disease is called immunity booster.
Innate immunity is typically referred to as the physical and chemical barriers that act as the first line of defense of our bodies against pathogens.
Adaptive immunity refers to a barrier that relies on a sophisticated system to recognize and destroy specific pathogens. This type of immunity provides long-lasting protection compared to innate immunity, which is non-specific. Adaptive immunity utilizes highly specialized white blood cells called lymphocytes, such as T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes.
T lymphocytes (T cells): T cells can be divided into another two major branches which are cytotoxic T cells and helper T cells. Cytotoxic cells kill infected cells directly through the production of toxic granules. Helper T cells on the other aid in stimulation of other lymphocytes such as B cells in killing pathogens.
B lymphocytes (B cells): Produce antibodies which can be distributed in bloodstream to kill a specific pathogen. Some of the B cells may differentiate into memory B cells, which act as a memory or ‘reminder’ for our immune system. Should the same deadly pathogens attack our body, the memory B cells will proliferate again to produce antibodies against them. B cells are the reason why diseases like chicken pox and some other viral diseases can hardly infect us for the second time.
In order to boost our immune system, we need to enhance the efficiency or ability of both types of our immune response in protecting us against pathogenic threats. Fortunately, in Cell Tissue Technology, there are several products that can aid in boosting the immune system.
CelltiX is a type of extracellular vesicle from Umbilical Cord-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) manufactured in a cGMP-compliant facility.
It is a novel form of a major paracrine factor released by MSCs into a culture medium, which plays an important role in a wide range of biological processes.
CelltiMax is a product derived from human umbilical cord-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs). The cells are cultured, then administered to the patient via intramuscular or intravenous injection. They have the ability to differentiate into specialized cells with specific functions for various parts of the body, and can reduce inflammation, repair, renew, regenerate, and replace damaged cells.
CelltiNK is a type of cytotoxic lymphocyte critical to the innate immune system. The role CelltiNK plays is analogous to that of cytotoxic T cells in the human adaptive immune response.
CelltiNK provides rapid responses to virus-infected cells, acting within days after being administered and responding to tumour formations. Typically, immune cells detect Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) present on infected cell surfaces, triggering a cytokine release, and causing tumour lysis or apoptosis. CelltiNK can apply to replace the insufficient Natural Killer cells (NK cells) in cancer patient body Natural killer (NK) cells are effector lymphocytes of the innate immune system that control several types of tumors and microbial infections by limiting their spread and subsequent tissue damage.
CelltiSS is a conditioned media formulated for topical administration to wound areas; used to treat and manage wounds and major skin loss. CelltiSS consists of various types of bioactive factors secreted by fibroblasts. The conditioned media is obtained from a cell culture collected at 80-90% confluency of the culture, which is the confluency at which the cells are in a mitotic phase, and there is maximum production of bioactive factors.
