Cell Tissue Technology (CTT) is a Malaysian-based advanced medical technology company, a spin-off of the National University of Malaysia (UKM), one of the country’s leading universities and research institutes. Our products and services focus on a whole new niche in advanced medical technology, encompassing tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and cellular research.
Tissue Engineering is an emerging multidisciplinary field that is expected to revolutionize the way we improve and enhance the health and quality of life of people worldwide. CTT aspires to become a corporate body with its own capacity to generate new discoveries, technologies, and knowledge through a range of research and study projects. The discipline of Tissue Engineering or Regenerative Medicine is seen as an emerging multidisciplinary field that is expected to revolutionize the way we improve and enhance the health and quality of life of people worldwide through the restoration, maintenance, and enhancement of tissues and organ functions.
EVER since our conception as a company in 2010, we have been in a focused effort towards the betterment of public and societal health; providing ingenious solutions to chronic, non-healing medical problems. Our company caters to these needs based on our proprietary Tissue Engineering technology, using the aforementioned technology to treat problems such as chronic ulcers, major skin loss, and severe burns, among others. Through years of research and development, focusing on regenerative medicine, we have now achieved a revolutionary pinnacle of technology capable of delivering living, cell-based products to accelerate the body’s own natural healing processes and enhance the human body’s capability to inherently repair and regenerate itself.

Datuk Dr. Khairul Idzwan Baharin or friendly known as Datuk Dr. Idzu is a medical doctor, biomedical innovator, certified aesthetician, and aspiring medical technopreneur. He served as the CEO and later the Managing Director of Cell Tissue Group, a UKM spin-off specializing in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, with a focus on skin loss solutions. His passion for this field stems from witnessing patients’ pain due to skin loss or non-healing wounds during his medical practice.
Beyond his medical role, Datuk Dr. Idzu innovated aesthetic medicine and wound management technologies while expanding Cell Tissue Group. His achievements include the MEGAGist Award and recognition as a “Transformer of Excellence” by the U.S. Department of State under President Obama’s administration. He also received the “Leadership Excellence in Stem Cells & Tissue Engineering” award in the Global Leadership Awards 2019. Driven by his dedication, he strives to establish Malaysia’s leading Tissue Engineering Firm and Southeast Asia’s hub for a brighter medical future.
